For chickencolorstandards.com and the Chicken Genetics Calculator app

Last updated: September 2026

In short: the free website tools need no account and collect no personal data beyond anonymous usage counts. The Chicken Genetics Calculator app stores what you type in — your flock, crosses and photos — against your account, so the app can run for you. You can export or delete everything at any time.

The free website tools

Compare Standards and Breeding Outcomes need no account and no sign-up. They don't collect or store anything that identifies you.

The site measures anonymous visit counts and which pages and buttons get used (Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics), so the site can be improved. These counts are not tied to your name, email, or any account — see Vercel's and Google's own privacy policies for how each service itself handles that data.

The photo identification tool

If you upload a photo to the photo identification tool, that photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude (an AI vision model) to read the chicken's visible coloring, and the description it returns is shown back to you. The photo itself is never stored — it is forwarded for that one reading and then discarded, not kept on our servers or used for anything afterward.

The Chicken Genetics Calculator app

Signing in and using the app does involve storing your own data, because that is what the app is for — tracking your flock and calculating breeding routes for it.

Your data is yours. From the Account screen in the app, you can export a full copy of everything stored against your account at any time, or permanently delete your account and everything in it — chickens, crosses, projects and photos included. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. How to delete your account sets out the steps, including what to do if you can no longer get into the app.

Analytics in the app

The app currently uses no third-party analytics or crash-reporting service — nothing about your app usage is tracked beyond what's needed to run the app itself.

Children

The app and website are not directed at children and are not knowingly used to collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If what's collected or how it's used changes meaningfully, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change.
