Request account or data deletion

Delete directly in the app: open the Account tab, tap Delete my account, then confirm with Delete everything. This works on Android and iPhone without emailing support. The email options below are an additional route if you cannot use the app.

You can request deletion of your Chicken Genetics Calculator account and its associated data without installing or signing in to the app.

Request account deletion by email, or write to wolfhoeve@gmail.com with the subject Chicken Genetics Calculator account deletion.

Send the request from the email address registered to your account. Say whether you want your entire account and its data deleted, or only specific records or photos. We verify ownership of the registered email address before deleting anything. If you cannot access that email address, contact the same support address for help with verification. Do not send passwords or sign-in codes.

Request deletion of specific data by email. Describe the records or photos you want removed; your remaining account and records stay available.

Account deletion removes your account and email address, flock records, saved crosses, breeding plans, projects and attached photos. Read the deletion details before requesting deletion. Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately through Google Play or the App Store.

In short: the free website tools need no account and collect no personal data beyond anonymous usage counts. The Chicken Genetics Calculator app stores what you type in — your flock, crosses and photos — against your account, so the app can run for you. You can export or delete everything at any time.

The free website tools

Compare Standards and Breeding Outcomes need no account and no sign-up. They don't collect or store anything that identifies you.

The site measures anonymous visit counts and which pages and buttons get used (Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics), so the site can be improved. These counts are not tied to your name, email, or any account — see Vercel's and Google's own privacy policies for how each service itself handles that data.

The photo identification tool

If you upload a photo to the photo identification tool, that photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude (an AI vision model) to read the chicken's visible coloring, and the description it returns is shown back to you. The photo itself is never stored — it is forwarded for that one reading and then discarded, not kept on our servers or used for anything afterward.

The Chicken Genetics Calculator app

Signing in and using the app does involve storing your own data, because that is what the app is for — tracking your flock and calculating breeding routes for it.

Email address. Used only to sign you in — the app emails you a one-time code, with no password to store or leak. Your email is not used for marketing and not shared with anyone else.
Your flock, matings and plans. Whatever you enter — chicken names or descriptions, sex, variety, genetics you've recorded, parentage, notes — is stored against your account so it's there the next time you open the app.
Photos of your chickens (optional). If you attach a photo to a chicken's record, it's stored securely (via Vercel Blob storage) and linked only to that record. Deleting the chicken or your account deletes its photos too.
Planner purchases. Purchase options can include Planner Annual, an auto-renewing subscription, and Planner Lifetime, a one-time purchase. Available options and prices are shown in the app. Payments are handled by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS); we do not receive your payment card details. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage paid access. RevenueCat receives purchase information linked to your app account identifier and may process technical information such as device type and operating system. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Your data is yours. From the Account screen in the app, you can export a full copy of everything stored against your account at any time, or permanently delete your account and everything in it — chickens, matings, plans and photos included. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. How to delete your account sets out the steps, including what to do if you can no longer get into the app.

Analytics in the app

The app does not use a separate usage-analytics or crash-reporting SDK. RevenueCat's purchase-management service includes purchase analytics, as well as purchase validation and paid-access management described above.

Children

The app and website are not directed at children and are not knowingly used to collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If what's collected or how it's used changes meaningfully, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change.
